The beginning of my writing journey
This is my first post of my newsletter. I hope you enjoy it and the future ones to come!
Welcome to A Dose of Knowledge by me, Abhinav Kotta. I'm an incoming freshman at the University of Central Florida just starting out as an online content creator. I’m starting out with this newsletter, but I hope to be creating videos one day. In this newsletter, you will be supplied with engaging articles about a variety of topics that interest me and news that is up-to-date. Please continue to read on to know why I’m starting a newsletter.
I’ve always wanted to create a newsletter, however, I had numerous mental blocks such as worrying about my writing skills, people judging me, having the fear of not knowing what to write, etc., but after years of being afraid I thought about the worst possible case scenario, and that scenario doesn’t even stop me from pursuing my passion - it’s just a small obstacle I can overcome.
Here are some more reasons why I’m creating a newsletter.
This is my chill pill
Writing about what I like is fun
Meeting people who share the same interests as me
Building my self-confidence
This is my chill pill
Writing forces me to sort out my thoughts and emotions. We live in a world that is advancing at an exponential rate - scientists don’t even know what the world will look like in 10 years! Because there is so much going on in the world, everyone’s minds are brimming with ideas, thoughts, emotions, etc. Sometimes, I find myself lost in this sea of thoughts floating around aimlessly until my sister brings me back to my senses by calling my name for the 5th time.
Writing helps me sort out all these thoughts and categorize them. Because writing requires me to convey my ideas in an understandable manner, it requires some thought to translate all that mumbo jumbo in my head into a nice writing piece. Doing this actually helps me calm my mind, because right now, as I am writing this text, the only thing on my mind is what I’m writing about. All the stresses, problems, and work in life don’t exist. The only thing that matters right now is this piece of text (I hope you enjoy it). If I can get calm doing this activity, I think writing is a pretty effective chill pill.
Writing about what I like is fun
I have a variety of interests. Everything from space to technology, to quantum mechanics, and normal physics I learn and learn and learn. I have so much that I learned over the past few years that I have no one to share it with - now I can share it with you! I have so many things I want to tell everyone about and I can’t wait for you to read my next posts!
Not only is writing fun, but I aim to expand the world of online education. I want to increase the knowledge that is easily attainable and make it fun to learn as well. What if someone discovers his or her passion through reading mine or someone else’s story? What if someone gets motivated enough to write blogs because of my posts? Just thinking about what I can do for the larger community while having fun motivates me a ton.
Meeting people who share the same interests as me
I know that some people share at least some of the same interests as me, and I would like to meet those people in the future. One of my goals is to create an online community such as a Discord server where everyone can discuss different topics and have a good time (maybe I’ll make one after I gain a good enough following). With a lot of minds collaborating, maybe some will get inspired to pursue the things they are interested in, maybe I will because I sure will learn a lot from many people.
Building my self-confidence
I’ve never really had much self-confidence for many years and that is a bad thing. My low self-confidence has led to me not being able to many things that I wanted to do, such as making videos, participating in debate, not having good social skills, public speaking, and of course writing for an audience. Self-confidence and believing in yourself, in general, is required if you want to succeed in life, so I’m taking one step at a time.
How will this newsletter benefit you?
Earlier I said that I will be talking about a wide variety of topics that interests me. This newsletter is not only a knowledge library, it is also a platform for like-minded individuals to come together and connect on the topics I discuss or anything really. As I said earlier, I would love to meet people who share the same interests as me, and hey, maybe you’ll find someone who likes pineapple on pizza - it’s a big world.
Conclusion
I hope I can one day inspire people to fight through the tough times and come out victorious because we have the power to choose how we want to live our lives.
Thank you so much for reading and make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out on all the experiences, stories, and information I share throughout this newsletter.
In the meantime, tell your friends!
